"Low on Karma... High on Speed" demo 1 (1997)

1. Revolution
2. Mountain of the Sun
3. Lowlife Karma
4. The Swamp (instrumental)

The band:

Sjöberg - Guitars & Vocals
Boder - Guitars
Sundler - Drums & Percussion

Carlsson - Bass & Backing Vocals (session member)

Recorded at Sun Speed Studio March 21-24 1997.

Notes on the recording:
"We went into the studio without a vocalist, and then came back out with the longest temporary solution in our band's history: me. I'm not sure I had ever sung any of these songs even at band practice before we entered the studio. We DID have a vocalist that we had rehearsed with for this demo, but things didn't really work out like we wanted and we parted ways.

I think we just thought something would sort itself out and things would work out... I think we all tried to sing the songs and it just didn't sound right. I got pissed off and went back in and just screamed as loud as I could, trying to stay on key at least once every song. And violá! We decided it was ok enough, and better than all four songs being instrumental (the last song, "The Swamp", was always meant to be instrumental though). And if you wonder, the "swamp sounds" that starts "The Swamp" was Boder blowing through a tube into a bucket full of water... lowbudget is the key! (and the movie sample at the beginning was taken from the 1966 movie "Curse of the Swamp Creature")

It's a primitive demo, some of the ideas weren't that good, but I think it shows quite clearly already back then what we're still doing almost 20 years later. And I still really like the song "Lowlife Karma" from this demo. " (Sjöberg / 2015)
