"The Embla Sessions" demo 11 (2007)

1. Deathtrippin'
2. Reptile Christ
3. Freedom '69
4. Make Me Bleed

This demo was never officially released with a real cover. It was just made to show labels what we were up to.

The band:

Sjöberg - Guitars & Vocals
Eronen - Guitars & Backing Vocals
Enberg - Bass & Backing Vocals
Sundler - Drums & Percussion

Recorded in the rehearsal room with an 16-track studio, winter 2006/2007.

Notes on the recording:
"Our latest and hopefully last real demo. We do record demo recordings of songs to hear how they sound, but I hope we won't have to record new demos to try and score with a label...

This was again done to send to any label that showed even the slightest interest in the album recording, to show them what they could expect next. It's not a demo I think is that good though... Some song ideas are good, and the song "Make Me Bleed" survived and is on the "Mondo Satan" album in a new version. But it was a time with the band things were pretty hard to do much. Our then drummer had moved to another town because of his job and you really don't take a 4 hour car journey a couple of times a week to rehearse with a band, that at the time felt like we stood still due to not much interest in our album recording. So, we rehearsed a weekend here and a weekend there and the songs never really got the chance of getting the SPACE PROBE TAURUS treatment. Where we smooth out the rough edges (or in our case, maybe it's more like roughen up the smooth edges), fix what doesn't really work. So most of the stuff on here sounds like the first time the ideas were brought up.

We never were able to capture the live feel of some of the songs either. I remember "Deathtrippin'" being one of my favorite SPT songs when we played it at band practice. It was again a try to make a more '60s garage rock sounding song, and in the rehearsal room it sounded like that. I think it fell a little flat when we recorded it though.

And the name of the demo is really a silly one. "Embla" was the nearby pizza place where we got our food from during the recording of the demo." (Sjöberg / 2015)
