Notes on the recording:
"This was yet another of those occasions where we would get some free studio time to record a track for a local compilation. Being cheap bastards we of course said yes! This time it was the local rock club/association that were releasing a tribute to the local metal radio show "Metalbox" that we all grew up with in the '90s.
This was also a great way to record something with our brand new line-up as Eronen had taken over as bassplayer after Stålhammar at the time. We decided to record "Taurus Rising" more or less for the same reason that we recorded "Dancing Jupiter" two years earlier. It sounded a little different from our other songs and it was free to record... It's also one of the tracks that smells a lot of our space rock past, mixed with the more rock style we changed back to in 1997. I don't remember that much from this recording than Boder being sick as hell (the flu, I think) and he couldn't do his usual backing vocals, so I had to do them myself. I think we lost a little dynamic that way as he and I had such a good back and forth thing going on usually."
